| Summary: |
"Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?" Rom 6:16

How did Jesus explain the duty of a servant?   Matthew 10:24 |
Verse 25 completes the thought of Christ. All disciples or followers should endeavor to be as their master, they should also expect to be treated similarly to the way their master or teacher was. "If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?"
| Matthew 10:24 | The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord. |

What must the servant of the Lord not do?   II Timothy 2:24 |
It is easy for people to get into arguments while discussing scriptures, but Paul admonishes servants of YHWH to be wise and exhibit humility and patience, while having an eager spirit to teach of YHWH's saving grace. Arguments should be avoided at all cost.
| II Timothy 2:24 | And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, |
| 3. |
How should he be toward all men?   II Timothy 2:24 |
The fruit of the spirit must be evident in all servants of YHWH, love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, and temperance must be the clothing of their character.

| II Timothy 2:24 | And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, |
| 4. |
Who did Paul say they should instruct, and for what reason?   II Timothy 2:25 |
We must realize the people we witness to are in opposition to themselves (they are contrary to their created purpose). When we witness to them in love, YHWH may be merciful to them and open their dark understanding, that they may realize their need for Christ.
| II Timothy 2:25 | In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; |

Is it a danger to say the Lord delays His coming?   Matthew 24:48-51 |
Hypocrisy will always be exposed; in the process of time the true character of a person is always revealed, a wise servant endures to the end but the wicked will always grow weary and faint. He will receive his portion with the hypocrites.
| Matthew 24:48 | But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; | | Matthew 24:49 | And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken; | | Matthew 24:50 | The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of, | | Matthew 24:51 | And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. |

The servant of the Lord is always sober and vigilant; he is constantly ministering to the flock protecting and nurturing it. He is elated knowing his brethren walk in the path of life.
