Crucified Christ.:
Cornel - 3/2/2008 9:35:53 AM
Greetings to all. As the passover approaches let us discuss a few relevant details of that memorable week. Things like what day of the week was Christ crucified? what day of the week was He resurrected? etc. Please brothers & sisters, do not bring these discussions in disrepute but let us learn from the scriptures in humility & love. Let us encourage one another as we see the DAY approaching. Peace & Love.
Moderate Amount:
Coach - 2/21/2008 4:06:52 PM
Annie, my sister, you asked a question I cannot answer, but one you either know in your heart or soon will know. No, just because you decide something is a moderate amount, does not make it right. It is the amount God sees as moderate. A ring on every finger and toe plus a bunch bracelets and necklaces and a number of earrings is too much and I do not believe anyone would say that amount is moderate. I do not see a definite number or else God would tell us. Search your heart, don't walk the line. This is how we are different from the world. The world says wear as many as you want, God says, moderate and don't let it over power your inward beauty. And, of course, as Timothy showed us, if you find yourself in a congregation that forbids it, then take it off with joy that your witness would not be hindered. Also, rest assured, you have not annoyed me.
Re: Moderate Amount: Bertie - 2/23/2008 2:00:02 AM(1 of 3) Greetings in Jesus name to Coach and brethren. We must be careful not to get caught up into quantifying of “how much”; saying: well, what if I wear 1 chain and 2 rings and a pair of earrings; or instead 2 chains 2 rings and no earrings. That trend of thought is but vain reasoning and leads one away from seeing the intent at hand. The serpent enemy knows that some of you are being told that God’s people dress a certain way and Satan’s people dress another. Is he not wise being a serpent? Would he not adorn himself accordingly so as to borrow your eyes and ears then to pollute your mind with his lies and wickedness? Was not Eve deceived in her perception? But let US be wise as serpents to understand that adorning is skin deep and that what is on the inside is what defiles or sanctifies our environment (Matt. 10:16; 23: 25-29). It doesn’t matter if one looks like Mr. T or George Bush.
Re: Moderate Amount: Shamaira - 2/23/2008 2:24:15 PMThank you Bro. Bertie for your contributions. I really like what you wrote here "Was not Eve deceived in her perception?" I will take some time to reflect on this.
Re: Moderate Amount: Bertie - 2/23/2008 1:59:28 AM(2 of 3) Let us be the wise so that we judge by the spirit/word of God (and not by sight) whether homeless Bro Bertie, Holey Bro Pope, or 3-piece suite Pastor Dollar, speaks according to the word (Isa. 8:20). Beware because even on this site they are some that APPEAR to talk the word of God (adorned as messengers of truth 2Cor. 11-13-15), but will turn and say “hath God said that we should keep his commandments?” they’ll say “No, he didn’t really mean to keep his laws at least not the way he said” (sound familiar? Read Gen. 3:1-5 and then compare with some past posts on this site—by their fruit you shall know who their father is-John 8:44). But they are not of Yahueh/Yahshua. Consider this: What if Brother “God-Costume-Clothing” comes to your home and he molests your daughter and steals all of your money savings, will you get mad at the church and the pastor? I’m afraid that some of us will, because we were told that people who look like that won’t do that.
Re: Moderate Amount: Bertie - 2/23/2008 1:59:00 AM(3 of 3) Now, what if I, a lamb, put on a wolf-costume and join Yah’s flock of sheep; will they be scattered? Of course NOT! No matter how much wolf-jewelry I put on, Yah’s flock will know me (as a lamb) by my fruit and ways, because though I where a wolf’s clothing/jewelry on the outside Yah’s flock are only trained to see the inside—my mannerism or conversation. We must live to be recognized after such…being adorned on the inside (with righteous morals, ways, and behaviors), and not be defined by our physical circumstance (status), clothing (physical costumes), and following of traditions (mental costumes). w/Love
Re: Moderate Amount: Coach - 2/23/2008 6:09:12 PMBrother Bertie, I agree with you except in the idea that it would be ok for us to look like Mr. T. God's children should not be adorned like that once we have been shown the truth in that area.
Re: Moderate Amount: Bertie - 2/23/2008 8:49:06 PMYes yes, you are right, I didn't mean that litteraly :-). I said it that way to make an extreme contrast. I hope no one thinks that Mr. T is the limit. But still one can't say that Mr. T is sinning for that. I'm sure that King Solomon's crown alone is worth more than all of Mr. T's Jewelry.
Balance:
Coach - 2/22/2008 7:49:00 PM
It seems to me this is what we need to strive for. I do not want to go to the extreme of thompson and mickey who can't ever stay on subject because they are too busy belittling anything that pertains to obediance, in the name of grace. But, nor do I want to go to the other extreme to where I can't refer to the first day of the week as Sunday because it would pay reverence to the sun god. I feel the spirit telling me both are contrary to God's will. I know I am saved by grace, not of my works (because I know I am wretched man) it is a gift from God. But, I also know God expects obediance, so, I keep Sabbath, clean meats... I keep all things that were not of the Mosaic law, because I believe Paul is clear that the Mosaic law and Circumcision are no longer required. But, I wear a tie to church even though I understand the tie originally was worn to draw attention to the male member. (This is supposedly why it points down.) But, I refuse Christmas as pagan. (because it is) Balance?
Re: Balance: Coach - 2/22/2008 7:52:08 PMPlease understand the above message I wrote is not written as absolute truth, but simply as the way I feel God desires me to live. I am certainly interested in any and all comments as I am sure I would get anyway. Happy Sabbath brothers and sisters. May God Bless.
Re: Balance: Thompson - 2/23/2008 7:46:18 AMCoach! I understand your frustration, but I must be honest. Most of these issues are interrelated and you can't answer one without addressing the other. Because lets face it! COG7thday is stuck to the Law & Judaism. And if you look carefully most of the text quoted in support to the various brethren concerns are quoted from the Old Testament.
While all scriptures are important, the conditions and requirement which exist today is completely different. Its not one size fits all. Paul was in constant conflict with the Jews.
I have to be honest. I have to decide whether to Support Church, or be True to Gods Words. Because Paul received the Gospel by Revelation. Frankly I think the Church is upset because for the first time, they are being challenge, and they feel frightened. But I must be true to God.
THE WEDDING RING:
ANNIES - 2/16/2008 8:43:52 PM
CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL ME OR EXPLAIN TO ME WHY IS IT THAT SOME COG CHURCHES WEAR THE WEDDING RING AND SOME DON'T?
BECAUSE I FIND IT VERY CONFUSING.AND CHURCH OF GOD PREACHES AGAINST JEWELERY, BUT ISN'T THE WEDDING RING CONSIDERD TO BE JEWELRY? AND WHERE IN THE BIBLE SUPPORTS THE WEARING OF THE WEDDING RING? AND PLEASE DON'T BRING ANY THING SAYING THAT THE TOPIC IS NOT IMPORTANT FOR SALVATION!!! JUST PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION.
Re: THE WEDDING RING: Coach - 2/19/2008 3:51:52 PMAnnie, interesting question, and please, let's all honor our sisters' desire and stay on subject. A ring is a ring, whether it is wedding, gold, silver, plastic... While some churches preach against jewelry, I believe a more accurate interpretation of scripture is that jewelry should be worn in moderation. "let it not be the outward adorning of gold, but of a meek and quiet spirit which is precious in the sight of our Lord." Please make sure that you are making your inner self as pretty as your outer self, and a modest amount of jewelry is acceptable. If your concious is torn, then it would be better to abstain. Your heart will need to tell you what is a modest amount, because it is God's opinion on modesty that counts, not mine.
Re: THE WEDDING RING: ANNIES - 2/20/2008 4:38:29 PMok,then coach so are you telling me that i can wear any amount of jewelry that i consider to be modest? what is considered to be moderate? a pair of earring, a chain, a bracelet, one or two rings on my fingers, a toe ring maybe.I find it very confusing because when i just got baptised i was told that i was to be different from the world in action, dressing, adorning,ect... i mean in every way possible.so my next question is what do you understand when the scripture says learn not the ways of the hidden? Please don't be annoyed i just need some answers.
Re: THE WEDDING RING: Bertie - 2/20/2008 11:09:36 PMGreetings Annies, I know this was meant for coach, but the word "ways" pertain to actions, customs, commandments, laws, traditions, celebrations, festivities, superstitions ESPECIALLY of which has religious ties or origins (i.e. Christmas, Easter, Halloween, etc). It is not necessarily clothing, accessories, etc. We as God’s children do walk by His “ways” (which is law keeping, commandment keeping, etc) living a pure and righteous life. These are the "ways" of Yah: 1kings 3:14 “And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments…” See also 1Kings 11:33; Psa. 119:1-5, 168; Prov. 8:32, 33; Malachi 2:9; Jer. 7:23, 24; Jer. 10:2-3. I’d say if wearing rings has pagan origins then that would be a valid argument to not wearing it and NOT because it is atomic element Au-->Gold. It is not a matter of quantifying how much jewelry a person should have on, but rather that by a discerning conscience you’d be able to judge whether your inner man speaks volumes over your oute
Re: THE WEDDING RING: Soldier of Truth - 2/21/2008 10:40:11 AMThank you for adding some scriptures to you answer Bertie, NOW you statement was "I’d say if wearing rings has pagan origins then that would be a valid argument to not wearing it and NOT because it is atomic element" Very Good"!! jesus-messiah.com wedding_rings you can that site out and this one too bibleviews.com no scriptures that site the use of wedding rings we saw dowrys give to wives but not wedding bands Genesis 24:22 ...took a golden earring of half a shekel weight, and two bracelets for...The question of Jewery way did Isreal have it, as payment for their labour Exodus 3:21-22. Early reference to jewery in Gen 35: 1-4 show somthing negative! Jacob instructed his household to put away the strange gods that are amonge you... Israel was command to strip from jewels another two times Exodus 33:3-6 Isaiah 3:16-24 All this to be in the presents of God whose presents we are continually in. Gold is not sin, modesty is right! Galatians 5:9 A little ( for wedding rings on the two sites)
Re: THE WEDDING RING: Ellis - 2/21/2008 11:39:53 AMSoldier of Truth,
Thank you for the websites posted. I did some studying on this topic a couple years ago, and came to the same conclusion. When I got married, my wife and I decided not to use "the ring" due to the origins and history of it. The wedding ring has it's ties to Paganism and Babylon. It was actually Pope Gregory that sent the decree for all that has the intent to marry, to be given a wedding ring as a "token" of commitment. As pointed out by others, the Holy Scriptures show no reference of the children of God using this item for marriage. But to all, I must say: don't take my word for it, but study for yourself, the internet is a great way to do research and may God guide you in wisdom. God Bless...
Re: THE WEDDING RING: Bro.Thompson - 2/21/2008 1:38:11 PMBro Ellis, I have even gone a step further: I don’t call the days of the week any more. I don’t call the months of the year any more. I don’t sing from pagan Hymn Books any more. I have my own farm, plant and rear my own cattle. I do not Visit Hospitals any more. I do not drive in pagan public transportation any more. I am not supposed to use pagan internet services, but I am hoping to repent one day. Please Note Brethren! I though Coach’s explanation seems the most reasonable but sadly, we are back to ground o. When will we understand, that salvation is not because of anything that we have done, but only by grace through faith in Christ Jesus.
Re: THE WEDDING RING: ANNIES - 2/21/2008 9:41:02 PMTHOMPSON CAN U PLEASE BRING SCRIPTURES TO PROVE UR STATEMENTS? I ASKED THIS QUESTION IN AN EFFORT TO LEARN SMTING FROM MY BRETHREN THAT I FIND HAS IT'S IMPORTANCE.MARRIAGE IS AN HONERABLE THING IN GOD'S SIGHT!! AND PLEASE STOP TRYING TO BE SARCASTIC WE ARE IN THIS WORLD BUT NOT OF THIS WORLD THERE ARE CERTAIN THINGS THAT GOD HAS ALLOWED US TO PARTAKE IN AND CERTAIN THING THAT ARE JUST FORBIDDEN. UR SUPPOSE TO BE TEACHING HERE!!!!!!1
Re: THE WEDDING RING: Thompson - 2/22/2008 10:59:34 AMGuys! Guys! Guy! Please stop getting carried away. Once you start singling out every detail you believe to be associated with paganism and of Babylon, Your next best option is to jump off the Planet. Let’s face it! This whole World is run by Babylon period.
Weather you start with wedding rings, days of the week, Months of the year, Time, even our Hymns were composed by Non COG7thday. We are just setting up the perfect trap for ourselves; in that, according to our interpretation of (James 2:10 Rule) you can’t do one and miss out the other. That is why salvation is all about [The Renewing of Our Minds]: Worshiping God in Sprit and Truth. Not by our alleged Righteous deeds that we should boost. Tell me! Does it matter who gives me water if I am dying? Or who saves my Child’s life whether the person had Jewellery, or wore Pants, or even had pork for breakfast? NO! The most important thing is that they did a good deed when making their choice.
Re: THE WEDDING RING: Micky - 2/22/2008 11:17:18 AMThompson, well done! Well done! You are my disciple. Perfect answer! To add to this, Daniel served the King in Babylon. The king rewarded him with a Gold Chain. He never said “King I do not want it”. Same for Joseph in Egypt. Only one argument Daniel had with the King. "He will not worship any other God". And today, it’s the same message Jesus is spreading: whosoever believeth in me. Christ already know how this world would have been. In the time of literal Israel he separated them in all things. But today, we are distinguished because of our Faith & belief in him by the renewing of our mines not literally. The Holy Sprit teaches us all truth. Its not about where you are, what you wear, But by the acceptance of Jesus Christ. (End of STORY)
Re: THE WEDDING RING: Bertie - 2/20/2008 2:45:32 PMAmen to brother Coach's response. Simple and true--I couldn't have said it better myself. We have addressed this question in the past. click on page 29 and view topic: jewelry; record #: 281; dated: September 8th 2006 (9/8/2006). I also shared at one point that no one should look to "a ring" or any other mariage symbol to show the world their committment, but that our committment should be evident in the lives we will for our spouses. For example Do we need to walk around with a cross hanging on our neck or have a certain tattoo that said we believe in Yahshua the captian of our salvation? NO! we simply behave that way (if we trully are covenanted with him). Therefore, there is no argument advocated for one to wear "a ring" as a symbol; likewise neither is there any justification for a person saying it is wrong because it is jewelry--the choice is YOURS. If it offends your brethren and church, now, why cause strife knowing in your conscience that you are free either way? w/love
LORD'S SUPPER:
Joel - 2/14/2008 10:52:59 PM
I WOULD LIKE TO KONW THE POSITION OF FEET WASHING DRUING THE LORD'S SUPPER? FROM STUDYING MATTEW(26), MARK(14), LUKE(22) AND JOHN(13) I GOT TO BELIVE THAT FEET WASHING IS AFTER SUPPER BUT THE CHURCH TEACHES THAT FEET WASHING IS BEFORE SUPPER. I'M REALLY CONFUSE, THEREFORE I NEED TO KNOW IF FEET WASHING IS BEFORE OR AFTER SUPPER. PLEASE I NEED AN ANSWER (ASAP).

Re: LORD'S SUPPER: Thompson - 2/17/2008 11:04:06 AMJoel, I agree with Micky totally. We seem to want to Polarize Christianity just for our own glorification. For example, in the account given for the Lord supper, what if someone say (1) There were no women present (2) Jesus only gave it to 12 apostles Not the entire nation of Israel as compared with the Passover. (3) Every one drank from the same cup. Must we be concerned about all theses issues? We need to stop trying to force truth upon the world. We behave like we are unlearnt. Perhaps if we focus on helping third-world countries out of poverty we will make a better difference in this world. G/Bless.
Re: LORD'S SUPPER: Micky - 2/16/2008 2:10:42 AMJoel, before or after does not matter for salvation. Does it mean unless we are baptised in a river we shall not be saved? Or must we go up to Jerusalem to seek the Holy Sprit? What is important is that we take it as often to show the lord’s death till he comes. (End of Story) And any believer who truly accepts this faith will be saved.
Re: LORD'S SUPPER: Soldier of Truth - 2/16/2008 8:27:03 PMmicky note i showed bro joel from the scriptures that the washing of the feet took place before the last supper! YES IT DOES NOT SAVE YOU OR BRINGS SALVATION but this is the example that the word of God has give us. WHy should we do differently to the word? 1 Cor. 11:1-2 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.2 Now I praise you, brethren, that ye remember me in all things, and KEEP the ordinances, AS I DELIVERED them to you. ok I MUST ASK THE QUESTION WHAT LAWS OF MOSES DOES THE CHURCH KEEP? SAVE FOR THE GOOD PRINCIPLES THAT WE CAN GAIN FROM THEM!
BELOVED BROTHERS AND SISTER LET US SHARE WITH EACH OTHER BUT LET IT NOT BE OUR OPINION, SHOW THE SCRIPTURES PROVE OR DISPROVE ANY POINT. Isaiah 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: Isaiah 28:13 But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little... Re: LORD'S SUPPER: Soldier of Truth - 2/15/2008 7:21:18 PMSEE REPLY TO COACH FRIST. BRO READ JOHN 13 AGAIN. NOW THE LORD SUPPER WAS INTRODUCED THE NIGHT OF THE PASSOVER, THIS WAS THE FIRST PART OF THE NIGHT John 13:2 And supper being ended, (PASSOVER) THEN JESUS DID SOMETHING ODD v4 He riseth from supper, and laid aside his garments; and took a towel, and girded himself V5-6. NOW THIS WAS DONE BEFORE THE BREAKING OF THE BREAD AND THE DRINKING OF THE FRUIT OF THE VINE. V12 So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? WASHING OF FEET IMPORTANT V15 FOR I HAVE GIVEN YOU AN EXAMPLE... AND V17 NOTE NOW THAT THE LAST SUPPER NOW FOLLOWS THIS JOHN 13:21-30, SAME AS LUKE 22:14-30;MARK 14:17-25 AND MATTHEW 26:20-29. NOW REMEMBER IT IS ONLY JOHN WHO TELLS YOU WHAT HAPPEN BEFORE THE LAST SUPPER. COACH ALSO SITES A GOOD POINT ON CULTURE WHICH IS TRUE BUT IN THIS CASE IT WAS A LESSON IN HUMILITY THAT WE MOST PRACTICE AND NEED TO LEARN.
Re: LORD'S SUPPER: Micky - 2/15/2008 1:32:21 AMDoes any of that before or after determine someone’s salvation?
Why does this Cog7thday always seem to concentrate its efforts on being politically correct rather than leading the way among this sinful World in love? Verily, verily, I say unto you all, except Christ washes us we will not enter the Kingdom.
Re: LORD'S SUPPER: coach - 2/15/2008 9:16:39 AMMicky, why does something have to be a salvation issue in order to study? Doesn't truth hold value? Why is it that so often someone will ask a question that is important to them, and someone else will jump at the chance to belittle the question? I know church's that insist it should be done in both orders. In reading the accounts, it certainly appears Jesus did it after supper, but if you consider the purpose of washing feet and that it was always done as soon as the person enterred your home, it could lead you to do it first. I would be interested in hearing someone give an explanation on the importance of doing it one way over the other, because to me the purpose is achieved either way. If left up to me though, feet washing would come after the supper.
Re: LORD'S SUPPER: Soldier of Truth - 2/15/2008 6:36:54 PM Coach i like your answer to micky. Let me say this God is a God of Order. IF GOD HAS GIVEN A COMMAND OR ORDER FOR SOMETHING TO BE DONE WE CANNOT GO AGAINST IT, FOR EXAMPLE Uzza's death for touching the ark (1 Chron. 13:9-14).
AND SAUL [to obey is better than sacrifice] Obedience is more important than all forms of religion—sacrifices, offerings, rituals, and ceremonies. It is the chief end of all true religion; and rebellion and stubbornness are a manifestation of failure in conforming to truth (1 Samuel 15:22-23). NOW in ALL THIS FOLLOWING the WORD OF GOD TO THE T AND DOT AND COMMA IS NOTHING IF WE AS THE COG7DAY BECOME AS THE PHARISEES KNOWING THE LAW BUT NOT DOERS OF THE LAW, KNOW OF LOVE BUT NOT SHOWING LOVE. READ MATTHEW 23. WHEN WE KNOW THE TRUTH OR TRUE DOCTRINE OF CHIRST WE MOST FULLFIL IT WITH LOVE.
COG(7th day) has the true doctrine but we must Awake from our Sleeping state and Take Heed to our ways Haggai 1:7 Consider your ways. AMEN
Re: LORD'S SUPPER: Soldier of Truth - 2/15/2008 6:28:25 PMIs time for me to join this forum and stop laying back! Coach i like your answer to micky. Let me say this God is a God of Order. Re: LORD'S SUPPER: Micky - 2/15/2008 11:16:09 AMgreat point Coach! Truth should be what determines salvation. These issues are irelevant for salvation they just boots up Cog7thday ego. And still we still hate each other.
Re: LORD'S SUPPER: ANNIES - 2/20/2008 4:59:07 PMmickey i have one question to ask you and please answer. are the ten commandments the only commandments that god has set for us. i said god because he is the head of christ and it is he that setteth up and pulleth down, so if god or christ have given other commands and precepts that his church may run in decency and order should'nt we as obedient children do it? i understand your concern for more love in the church and i agree.but if we don't love god enough to do as he says how can we love each other? if you were asked to bake a loaf of bread would you add in the ingredients any how or in any order you want and still get a well made bread?
Re: LORD'S SUPPER: Micky - 2/21/2008 1:58:57 PMAnnies, If Cog7hday only belived in the 10 com, that would be good. But i am not sure what they believe in. They seem to make it up as they go along. example, Lets look at the Lord Supper: Thompson is currect! When God told the Nation of Isreal to keep the passover, the entie nation did so in the prescribed manner. When Christ introduced the supper he did not compel all Israel to do so. These instructions represented John 3:16 Whosover believeth on me. That is Christianity! which has now become modern Israel (believers! Jews or Gentile) Lets face it! there is no prescribe time for some one to accept the Lord and baptised. In like manner, there is no specific time to take the supper. It is only a symbol of your acceptance of Jesus. If Christ wanted us to use a specific fomat, he would be precise! The Lord is not slack concerning his promises. Salvation is now open to the World; Not restricted to COG7th day. Embrace every believer in Christ, love them just the same.
Re: LORD'S SUPPER: Soldier of Truth - 2/15/2008 7:50:35 PMRIGTH O MICKY IF WE DONT HAVE TRUTH WE ARE LOST(BUT THE ISSUES ARE RELEVANT) Isaiah 8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. ALSO IF WE SAY WE HAVE LOVE AND DONT DO THE WILL OF GOD WE ARE ALSO LOST John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments. IF THE CHURCH OR YOU FOR THAT MATTER STUDIES THE WORD OF THE LAW AND SEE THUS SAYS THE LORD DO OR DONT DO THIS WAY AND NOT THAT WAY AND WE DONT OBEY THE WORD IT IS SIN! James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin. Joshua 1:7 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to ALL THE LAW, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. AMEN GLORY TO THE LORD GOD
COG7day has the true doctrine but we must Awake from our Sleeping state and Take Heed to our ways Haggai 1:7 Consider your ways
Re: LORD'S SUPPER: Micky - 2/16/2008 1:57:52 AMSoldier of truth, I admire your desire for truth. But it never ceases to amaze me. Who do we follow Christ or Moses? If Cog7th follow Moses lets do every thing Moses taught in the Law. If Christ let follow Christ Commandments. (Love your neighbour as yourself). We can’t serve two Masters! Is either we stone to death? Or love our enemies. We the Cog7th are in danger of creating an environment of segregation.
Several people on this board have already highlighted this. For the last 100years since we have been established, where have all this doctrine taken us? Jesus said by their fruits you shall know them; and for all these years I have seen no fruits. Every branch with no fruits is burnt down.
Re: LORD'S SUPPER: Bertie - 2/15/2008 9:42:33 AMCoach, you should have caught on by now. This micky person as well as Thompson and bro Freedom, agree is not worth the time. In fact they are probably the same person (and from the past) seeking some platform for attention, and you are giving it to them. Just ignore them--They are not worth the time. They only seek to degrade a particular body of believers because they are miserable and disobedient...they shall remain blinded unless they believe. Again, please for peace sake, just ignore them, don't speak to them or respond to them even if they call you or me a backslider they are just seeking attention to try to get a response out of us. For example, look at the post they will post after this just to stirr up some of you, and look at how I will pay him no regard of a response. Believe me some of the people that ask question know better and don't listen to them either, they just pass over there post to read yours and others like it. I'll address the question later. w/love
Re: LORD'S SUPPER: true virtuous woman - 2/15/2008 6:06:18 PMBrother Bertie, It saddens me that u could have those negative felings to the probable weeknesses of your fellow brethren. Is that how u relate to those who are sometimes critical, or have an alternative opinion than u have? Or further is that how Christ taught us to react. "Who is the greatest among u?" Isnt it the one who becomes the servant and humbles himself to the weakness of his fellow brethren? Is the COG a cult? That everyone must speak the same, or be banished or expelled if they dont? Please enlighten me, as I seek a further understanding on this issue.
Re: LORD'S SUPPER: Micky - 2/16/2008 2:25:15 AMSister, you could not have said it better! Everyone knows by now that Bro. Bertie sits at the right hand of god. He knows all things. Bertie is COG7thday Answer. Or some might say Assembly of Yahweh. Correct me if I am wrong as to which one.
Re: LORD'S SUPPER: Coach - 2/15/2008 5:55:17 PMNo problem, I guess I am a slow learning. Thanks, Bertie

Humility:

Soldier of truth added the one point I forgot to put in. In reguards to the feet washing the most important part is following the Master's example of humility. Especially we men have a weakness in the area of pride and should take extra care when we have an opporatunity like this to work on being more humble.

I have read the last few messages on this message board and it saddens and upsets me because it seems that we have are abusing the opportunity that was given to us to use this message board as a way to admonish and learn from each other. It appears that this board is being used to criticize too much. Let us stick to the scriptures and get away from everything else. God's words says (Lev. 19:18) "love thy neighbour as thyself..." is this how we treat ourselves. Let us put on not some, but the whole armor of God brethren. If you feel the church is going in the wrong direction instead of always criticizing, give possible solutions or suggestions to help facilitate that growth. Complaining and criticizing changes nothing. God bless all of you.
What's Importance of prayer?:

Wake Up!!!:
Karah - 2/9/2008 11:21:18 AM
I have been attending COG7day, on and off for all my life. I am not a member, but would like to become one in the future. However, I think it is time that believer's of God stop looking for fault against their brothers and sisters. Instead of bringing dwon others why not find faults within ourselves and seek help from God to make our lives pleasing and acceptable for HIM. For years this has been going on and it only discourages people (followers) like myself. Many people have told me that they don't like to visit or follow COG7day beacause of too much confusion. How are we suppose to encourage unbelievers to follow the Laws and Belief of COG7day when all they see are the believers finding fault on others. It is time to WAKE UP belivers of Christ. Be Examplers and not Accusers towards each other!!!
Re: Wake Up!!!: amendall - 2/12/2008 8:50:02 AMDearest Karah I wish to lete you kbnow that those who judge are also judged. In Matt.7: 1-3 the Messiah taught us not to point fingers at each other since we have all fallen short of the glory of God thus rendering us to be sinners. None is better than the other and whoever regards self as rigteous is not well versed with the srciptures. Apostle Paul in Rom.14:10 also beseeched us not to point fingers. Read also 1 Sam.16:7; Prov.26:12-28 etc.
So I urge you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ that you be not put off from serving the lord since if you keep looking at others it will hinder your spiritual progress. Dont forget that time is running out so better make up your mind.
Re: Wake Up!!!: true virtuous woman - 2/9/2008 5:23:19 PMI must say i agree with u.
Re: Wake Up!!!: Micky - 2/11/2008 6:55:42 AMWhile I am in agreement with you, (True virtuous woman) I have recognised that those kinds of bad press are inevitable because the COG7th day is a Law religion: where everyone points a finger. (Sinners judging sinners) When we start to practice the message of Christ and the gospel, then we will see a dramatic change. (Love Love Love) if Not we will see another 40years of going nowhere. (As usual)
Re: Wake Up!!!: true virtuous woman - 2/12/2008 5:46:45 PMlike wise agree
Re: Wake Up!!!: Coach - 2/12/2008 8:50:45 PMAnother 40 years of not going anywhere? What evidence do you have that leads you to the conclusion that over the last 40 years we have gone nowhere? It is a sign of weakness that we cannot take confrontation in stride and use it to productively look at ourselves. Instead such critical and judgemental words are used while stating that we need more love. Should we not confront one another in love to restore one another when we stumble? Should we not search for truth?
Re: Wake Up!!!: Thompson - 2/13/2008 12:08:17 PMCoach, I am confident that our Church will get out of this illusion that we alone have the truth. After all, we have made progress so far. I am from a COG7thday generation that was taught the Computer is the Beast and look now, who is using the Machine? So I am patient! When guys like Prince Bowers explain issues regarding saved by Grace through faith in Christ Jesus, & Men like Bro. Freedom express such exciting explanations about (Unequally Yoke) I see hope. Yes! Some brethren will cry now, but it’s only a matter of time when all eyes will be open. We have spent more than 40years throwing stones at each other because of issues regarding the Law. We have built No schools, No Hospitals, and our average Church is no bigger than a Caribbean Kitchen! But yet we criticize every other Christian Church who already got their act together. Man! It does not surprise me when I see some of the tears & frustration some of our brethren express on this site. G/Bless.

THE LIVING GOD
If the God that offers eternal salvation does not live, we do not have salvation. God has proven that He lives, therefore, let us accept His invitation to live with Him eternally. Matthew 24:13, Revelation 21:2,3.
