  • SHOULD WE OBSERVE THE COMMANDMENTS OF STONING?:   Rita - 4/13/2007 3:23:31 PM
Hello Pastor I read your message board regularly and was quite taken by your topic Spritualism. I am aware that you Do not eat Animal blood because you obsereved the Laws of the Old testement. As you quoted Leviticus 19:26 Ye shall not eat any thing with the blood: neither shall ye use enchantment, nor observe times. But please tell me. Is it alright to stone witches and people with familiar sprits? Leviticus 20:27 A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them. Does your church believe this?

    • Re: SHOULD WE OBSERVE THE COMMANDMENTS OF STONING?:  Ivan - 4/13/2007 7:47:24 PM
Everyone under the heaven as a shot a repentance. The bible says for all have sin and come short of Gods Glory. Remember Simon the Sorcer, Peter did not stone him. Acts 8:13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. Peter told him he had to repent because he offered money for God Power. Peter had prayed for him because he made a prayer request. So just like Peter did, we must do also.

      • Re: SHOULD WE OBSERVE THE COMMANDMENTS OF STONING?:  Prince Bowers - 4/14/2007 2:56:46 AM
Bro Ivan How strange. What a great question. I know that many soon will see exactly what i mean. Why do you pick and choose which law you want to keep. The New testiment is about accepting Christ and preaching Jesus thats all our Jurisdiction is. Not matters of Law. The sprit teaches all truth. For Judgement belongs to GOD only. If we don't reform our doctrinal beliefs people will make a mockery out of us. We have to see the purpose of the old testiment and stop applying a literal interpretation to all scriptures. I love you all Prince.

        • Re: SHOULD WE OBSERVE THE COMMANDMENTS OF STONING?:  Ellis - 4/14/2007 9:20:22 AM
Hi Rita, please disregard Mr. Bowers' message. As you can tell from previous posts his view of the scriptures is skewed due to his vendetta against the doctrine we teach. That being said, we follow our greatest example: Jesus Christ. One of the reasons he came was to open the way to salvation for everyone. He did that by preaching love. (Matt.22:37-40). The old testament laws required people to be put to death for breaking the sabbath, witchcraft, disobeying your parents etc. But when Christ came, his main goal was to give life: John 10:10. The ordinances that were written against us (stoning, sacrifices, etc.) were nailed to the cross at his death. (Col. 2:12-14). As Ivan said, he opened the way for everyone to have a chance to be saved. That includes witches, warlocks, adulterers etc. Case in point: When Mary Magdelene was to be stoned, Jesus showed them the more perfect way. Stoning was not the answer, but love and forgiveness is. God Bless!

Pastor, I thankyou for your answers. However, I am still confused. I am not aware that Mr. Bowers has a vendetta against your doctrine. I don't know him. All being said, I have read some of his posting and he seem quite interesting. Someone on the board quoted a text in James "If a man breaks one thing in the law he is guilty of all." I don't understand how Jesus can take one thing away, and leave the others. I can see why Mr. Bowers is able to justify his beliefs, and say that you are choosing. Let face. He does have a point. But who am I to say?

            • Re: SHOULD WE OBSERVE THE COMMANDMENTS OF STONING?:  prince Bowers - 4/15/2007 5:36:57 PM
Oh bro Ellis: What a victory bless the Lord. You suddenly realise that you need Jesus For Shelter. I know the Lord will open the people's eyes. I have no vendetta against the Church I Love all my Breathen But i am sorry I can't see any justification in those Doctrinal beliefs. Christ is the end of the Law for everyone who believes in him. Infact he said go into all the world and preach the Gospel. Not the Law of Moses. And he has given only one commandments to Love. That i will do and teach. I love you all God Bless.

  • Hair:   Alex - 5/11/2007 8:52:41 PM
Hello, my name is Alex I am 17. The church I go to is al so a Mt. Zion but we do no practice creaming (perming) or any thing to do with the hair, it is all natural, and we do not ware jewelry and the ladies do not ware pants. I would like to know what are your views on this, and if other Mt. Zion practice these thing, and why do you or why don’t you.

    • Re: Hair:  prince Bowers - 5/18/2007 2:46:08 AM
We drive BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, etc. Build expensive houses, Wear expensive suits, while so many of our brethren live below the poverty line. All we do is break down our very own. There are too many Scribes and Pharisee in this church. All they want to teach is Moses Law: But none of them Keep it, or are able to. Since I have been on this sight, No one has suggested creating a special fund to assist the needs of our less affordable brethren, living in Poverty and Despair. We don’t care if our brethren Go to bed hungry. But the poor sister’s hair is picked on: Sabbath after Sabbath. Easy pray: That’s what makes us Righteous eh! eh!: May God help us

    • Re: Hair:  Amos Benjamin - 5/16/2007 6:01:47 PM
hey Alex it seem like this is a very common problem in the churches of God all over the world and i'm glad you brough it up. just recently we the youth had a study in Isaiah 3:16 downward where it explains everything about the matter. maybe God could open your eyes to know what is better and so may be able to stand firm for the lord when someone else asks the question. you would be able to tell them why it is not permitted.

      • Re: Hair:  Ellis - 5/17/2007 7:32:33 AM
I was born and raised in the Church of God 7th Day. I grew up in St.Croix where we don't practice or teach wearing of jewelry, women wearing pants or perming of hair. I would say about 95 % of all COG churches in the Caribbean also teach this. This would include Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, St. Lucia, Trinidad, Antigua etc... However, in the US, it's different. I encourage you all to hold fast to the doctrine we have learned. As God does not change, so does his commandments not change. I Tim. 4:16 "Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee." God Bless!

    • Re: Hair:  prince Bowers - 5/16/2007 1:55:39 PM
Alex you are a young man. It’s nice of you to be serving God. Hold on to Christ Faith Only. We always sing, “Just as I am I come”. When they come, we send them back to Moses Law. But I say like the Gospel says: Whom the Lord set free is Free indeed. We look for all kinds of foolishness to make people leave the church. Not important for salvation. Judgment belongs to God. Render your heart not your Garments. Serve God with all your Heart and with all your Soul peace and love young man

Hello! Good question i would like to give you some scripture Deut -22- 5 Genesis -1-27 1timothy -2-9-10 1peter -3-3-4

    • Re: Hair:  cindyl541 - 5/12/2007 11:18:34 PM
I would prefer that hair be natural since it is so much less trouble to care for. Jewelry like a small chain with a Cross or a wedding ring seems alright. I don't like fancy silver and gold with jewels, etc. since it seems the person may be trying to show off and it could cause someone to feel less worthy or even jealous (which is a stumbling block). As for pants, I wish they were acceptable throughout the Church of God but it just depends on where you live and what you see around you. I must work on the Sabbath (it is lawful to do well on the Sabbath) so when I get home in the morning, it's hard for me to spend time changing clothes. People at my church wear pants. It gets cold here too. I don't think we should judge people by what they wear since many, many children and adults have only one thing to wear all the time. They are poor and cannot wear what they would like. However, we should try to keep clean so we don't smell bad and offend others.

  • JUST LOVE:   DAVID - 9/23/2006 4:12:47 PM
Just want to say love and peace to all of my brothers and sisters in Christ. You are no Jew, nor gentile, nor greek, no "7th day church of God", no baptist, adventist, etc... you get the point. We are SAINTS OF THE MOST HIGH. LOVE YAH!!!

  • NAKEDNESS IS CONDEMNED IN THE BIBLE:   K.M - 12/11/2005 10:01:39 PM
TO BROTHERS AND SISTERS EVERYWHERE NAKEDNESS IS CONDEMNED IN THE BIBLE “I appeal to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of Elohim, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to Elohim …” Romans 12:1). I feel I am obliged to approach you as we – you and I – are members of the Body of Messiah; “So we, though many, are one body in Messiah, and individually one of another” (Romans 12:5 R.S.V). In doing this I do not regard myself beyond reproof, Scripture justifies believers to exhort and to reprove one another, when this is necessary. In this letter I’m addressing ALL of us, i.e. brothers and sisters in the local church, in order that we should correct that which needs correction. Nowadays it is customary for women to wear very short dresses. Unfortunately, women believers also get caught up in this practice. (continued ).

    • Re: NAKEDNESS IS CONDEMNED IN THE BIBLE:  K. M - 12/11/2005 10:10:12 PM
The Scriptures warn us all both men and women, not to be conformed to this world. Yet this “”modern” fashion has spread into many churches. Many are speaking highly about the Grace of Elohim appearing “for the salvation of all men” (Titus 2:11 R.S.V.), but it seems that the message of the next verse is ignored: “Training us to renounce irreligion and worldly passions, and to live sober, upright and godly lives in this world.” Failure to apply reproof, when necessary, indicates a lack of appreciation of the above mentioned Grace. In Exodus 28:42, 43 the priests were required to “cover their naked flesh: from the loins to the thighs they should reach” (R.S.V.) The preposition for “to” in the Hebrew is “ve’ ad” which means “to the end of”, “including”: i.e. “Ad Olam” – till the end of the age or for ever. “Mi Dan vo’ad Beer Sheba” – from Dan to Beer Sheba, including Sheba. So Elohim commanded that the WHOLE thighs should be covered. (continued)

      • Re: NAKEDNESS IS CONDEMNED IN THE BIBLE:  K. M - 12/11/2005 10:18:08 PM
Moreover, the words for “naked flesh” are “Besar Erva”, i.e. “flesh of shameful nakedness.” This word “Erva” is not just nakedness, but shameful nakedness, whenever referring to the human body or its members. Compare Genesis 9:23; 1 Samuel 20:30. SO THE WORD OF ELOHIM STATES HERE THAT THE THIGHS ARE FLESH OF “ERVA”, and therefore to be covered in the Temple or in the Tabernacle. HOW MUCH MORE SHOULD IT BE REQUIRED OF BELIEVERS IN MESSIAH WHO ARE THEMSELVES THE TEMPLE OF ELOHIM! “Do you not know that you are Elohim’s temple and that Elohim’s Spirit lives in you?” (1 Corinthians 3:16 R.S.V.). Thus one must say that a woman’s dress should reach UNDER THE KNEES in such a way that the thighs (defined by ELOHIM as “Flesh of Erva”) should be covered. ALSO WHILE SITTING. Unfortunately, many are blind to this. One should exhort and reprove all who need exhortation and reproof – even visiting believers. This should be done preferably by responsible sisters. (continued).

        • Re: NAKEDNESS IS CONDEMNED IN THE BIBLE:  K. M - 12/11/2005 10:25:10 PM
We should seek true reverence in the presence of Messiah wherever we are! Let our camp be holy, “That He may not see ANYTHING INDECENT (Hebrew equivalent is “Ervat Davar”), which is a strong expression and turn away from you.” (Deuteronomy 23:14 R.S.V.) Let us not forget that “the time has come for judgment to begin with the household of Elohim.” (1 Peter 4:17 R.S.V.). May the words of our Lord to the church of Laodicea urge all of us to alter immediately the situation. “For you say… I need nothing, not knowing that you are wretched … blind and NAKED. Therefore I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined by fire… and WHITE GARMENTS TO CLOTHE YOU AND TO KEEP THE SHAME OF YOUR NAKEDNESS FROM BEING SEEN.” (Revelation 3:17, 18 R.S.V.; Genesis 9:22-27).

  • Who and what are we, British-Israel (Part 7):   Winnie - 8/26/2005 6:25:38 AM
THE WORLDWIDE CHURCH OF GOD DROPPED BRITISH-ISRAELISM AND OTHER UNORTHDOX BELIEFS IN 1995. The Church's officialweb page states: "We have worked hard to inform our own members about where we went wrong," and they apologize for having 'taught...erroneous doctrines [like British-Israelism].' " Now what are we going to do? Continue being inferior/referred to as Hamitic-Animals under the British-Israel banner? Suggestion: Our churches should break away from those racist teachings. And become TRUE ISRAELITES by accepting everyone regardless of their race.

    • Re: Who and what are we, British-Israel (Part 7):  Bertie - 9/16/2005 11:16:18 PM
Amen. I agree with you, Winnie. I know these people and they are not even worth mentioning, except as for an example for true children of God to not follow and be like. I can't believe the rediculousness they teach. It's like a new form of a hate group--They have not seen or know Christ. So sad. Let's pray for them and other like them. May God help us to not fall into those traps.

  • Be nice:   Humble - 8/2/2005 2:55:40 PM
To all those who wrote their concerns and comments i am very disappointed in you. Just from reading the comments i could feel each and everyone of your anger. Are we not suppose to be humble people. I think most of you need to learn how to accept and respect other people's opinion. Humble yourselves before you write message other people are readingl.

    • Re: Be nice:  Bro. Fabian - 8/4/2005 7:34:48 AM
I am also a little worried at the slant some of the last posts have taken. This way of communication can come across a little harsh at times-just like some emails can sound rude. Being dogmatic and overbearing is not the way that non believers or babes in Christ feel welcomed nor does it convey love and hope. I am sure all of us get it wrong from time to time, lets all heed the threadstartes message and think before we write. You can not simply write- with love -at the end of an attacking response and assume it will be taken that way. Brethren we all are the Lords and it is his grace and humility and love that has brought us here in the first place. May he bless you all, Fabian

Request Prayer
dear brethren pray for me to come out of evil

THE LIVING GOD
If the God that offers eternal salvation does not live, we do not have salvation. God has proven that He lives, therefore, let us accept His invitation to live with Him eternally. Matthew 24:13, Revelation 21:2,3.
